Yes, if the cart is a street-legal low-speed vehicle (LSV). In Florida an LSV can be driven on roads posted 35 mph or under, which covers almost all of Scenic Highway 30A. An ordinary golf cart is a different vehicle with stricter limits.
Florida law treats two kinds of cart differently. A low-speed vehicle (LSV) is a four-wheeled vehicle with a top speed above 20 mph and no more than 25 mph (Florida Statutes 320.01). An LSV may be driven on streets where the posted speed limit is 35 mph or less (Florida Statutes 316.2122). Every GeauxTime rental cart is an LSV.
An ordinary golf cart tops out below 20 mph. It may only use public roads that the county or city has designated for golf carts, so slow traffic alone does not make a road open to it. If you own one, check with Walton County before driving it on a public road.
Under Florida Statutes 316.2122, an LSV must have:
It must also be titled, registered with a license plate and insured like a car, and the driver must hold a valid driver’s license. Every cart GeauxTime sells as street legal, and every rental cart, meets these rules. Our service team can tell you what an older cart would need.
